External Reviews for Jameson Years 1780 Irish
Color: Rich, deep amber. Nose: Mellow, pot still whiskey with toasted wood and sherry undertones. Taste: Smooth and sweet with woody and nutty tones. Finish: Incredibly smooth.
This is the Master's Blender supreme example of the Jameson tradition of maturing whiskey in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. The Master Blender has hand-picked three whiskeys which have been matured in seasoned Olorosso sherry casks for at least 18 years. Then Jameson 18 Years Old is transferred to american bourbon barrels for a further 6 months, to put the final finishing touches to this unique and complex whiskey. Wonderfully mellow and smooth, complex flavours of fudge & toffee spice, hints of wood & leather, gentle sherry nuttiness and vanilla.
A full bodied, superbly mellow pot still Irish whiskey. Golden honey. Warm, spicy, assertively complex. Sherry sweetness, nutty flavor and mild woody undertones. Rich and lasting.
The color is yellow with green reflections. It's full bodied, vibrant, fresh, delicately sweet, yet light. This is a wine that surprises by its remarkable freshness and brilliant fruit flavors reminding of mint, citrus and peach.

Jameson has a light floral fragrance, peppered with spicy wood and sweet notes. Balance of spicy, nutty and vanilla notes with hints of sweet sherry and exceptional smoothness.
