Editorial Reviews for Jam Jar Shiraz Sweet Shiraz
Fresh, spicy and fun on the nose with plenty of black pepper flecked, jammy, smoky strawberry fruit. Fairly sweet but for many people this is just what they’ve been waiting for. It’s intensely fruity but not that large scaled with good structure. The jammy wild berry fruit tones linger on the finish. This is simple and simply a whole lot of fun! 87pts

Add your reviewJust polished off a bottle of this with the wife - what a fun wine. The name is perfect. The sweet is more of a honey sweet than a berry sweet. The sweet is not overpowering, but can be a bit unsettling the first few sips. It's kinda what I imagine Red Mead would taste like.
Costco was featuring this wine last week so I decided to pick up a a couple bottles to have on hand for a cocktail party. Well, did this wine turn heads?!! I opened up a bottle to share over assorted meats and thought it was a perfect companion. The fruit makes a statement, but not too strong. A nice, lively wine.
This wine really does taste like a lovely jam. Very fruity, but the sweetness is just right, not overpowering. Its hard to find this type of wine. For us wine lovers with a sweet tooth its hard to find a nice red that is sweet, but not a dessert wine. This wine was a very pleasant discovery & I'll be drinking it again soon for sure. Great price too!
Yuck. I do tend to like sweeter wines, but this is like a Shiraz flavored wine cooler. Just terrible.
A pretty rosy magenta color. Fairly strong and sweet on the nose. Taste deliciously sweet, raspberries, strawberries, a spoonful of grape jam all in the mix. all red and fruity! light on the tannins. Just an absolutely fun and fruity wine to drink. the finish was light and lingered for a while before disappearing into splash of a strawberry lollipop.
Think berries! Raspberry, blackberry with hints of dark chocolate. Fresh and beautifully balanced. Really enjoyed this wine with cheese. Fun wine!
I bought this on a whim while looking for a dessert wine, and this was perfect. It is sweet, but not as much as a muscat or a fortified wine, and found it quite atypical. If you want a lighter tasting, dessert type wine, great with mild cheese, for a picnic or summer day-this is for you. While it's not a $50 bottle of Cabernet, it has it's place and we really enjoy it.
External Reviews for Jam Jar Shiraz Sweet Shiraz
Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz was born out of the realization that there are not a lot of options available to consumers seeking quality sweet red wine. This fresh, fruity, semi-sweet Shiraz aims to fill that void.
Medium red. Blackberry, spices and a hint of tree bark on the bright nose. Very sweet in the mouth (54 g/l r.s.) but with bracing acidity giving this berry bomb a clean character. Very easy to drink but has structure too, and does not come off as gooey. This label was created by its American importer and made by Mike Dobrovic, who was the long-time winemaker at Mulderbosch.
Not all the best sweet reds come from New York State! This medium sweet Shiraz from South Africa is a spectacular bottle for the picnic table. Bright red raspberry and bramble berry fruits abound on the palate, making it a terrific accompaniment to fruit salads, snacks and sandwiches. Fans of Bella Rosa, Red Zeppelin and Alta B should definitely give this one a try!
A light-bodied and frankly off-dry style, with cherry pie and red licorice notes. Drink now.
Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz is packed with fresh, juicy flavors of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries with dark chocolate undertones. Striking a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, this refreshing and approachable wine is great to sip on its own and matches up equally well with meat dishes, cheeses, and desserts.
Crafted in a lighter style than your typical Shiraz, this fresh, fruity, semi-sweet wine displays aromas and flavors of ripe blueberries, blackberries and raspberries with dark chocolate undertones. Refreshing and approachable with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, it makes a great aperitif and pairs equally well with meat dishes, cheeses, and desserts. Best served slightly chilled, Jam Jar offers luscious, fruity goodness in every sip. - Winery
