Oaky on the nose, but lightly so with caramel and cedary overtones to the rather earthy core of fruit. Lovely mouthfeel, elegant if powerful with excellent depth but no extra fat to weigh this down. Nice bitter almond core on entry is followed by acidity that is bright, lending this a crisp orchard fruit quality in the mouth that turns ripe and almost peachy on the back end. Excellent oak integration, though on the long finish it plays a prominent role, contributing layers of flavor as well as some tannin. Very young but already showing great potential. 93pts

A full-bodied, complex Chardonnay, boasting peach, apple and mineral flavors accented by a touch of oak. Has a fine structure and is well-integrated, ending with a long, juicy aftertaste. Drink now through 2012.
Bright yellow-gold. Pure but reticent aromas of Meyer lemon, white flowers, smoky minerals and baking spices. Citrus and orchard fruit flavors are braced by tangy mineral and lime zest qualities, giving good back-end grip to this subtly creamy wine. The spiciness repeats on the focused, dry finish.
There's some oak masking the fruit now, but plenty of wine underneath. Apple, honey and spice flavors linger and it's well-balanced. Drink now through 2009.
When one thinks of Pouilly-Fuissé, the words sophistication, refinement and elegance come to mind. Jadot is one of Burgundy's top negociants, and this 100% Chardonnay is a splendid example of their superior quality. Elegantly structured with subtle vanillin and oak aromas, the fruit is well integrated and rich on the palate with a refined finish. You're sure to see it on a lot of restaurant lists, so enjoy this wine with the most sophisticated cuisines featuring seafood and poultry.

It demands coaxing and offers hints of oyster shell, crisp green fruit, jasmine and white flowers after a time. The palate is powerful on the entry with very good weight, the acidity is a little low, a Montrachet of volume and puissance towards the finish, although the terroir does not “sing” as much as other Monty ‘09s that I have encountered and perhaps the 2008 is the one to pick.
