The nose launches with aromas of minerals, metals, cedar and caramel intermingling, adding scents of cranberry and other bright red fruits, sea breeze, faint greenery, spearmint, and assorted white flowers as the wine remains in the glass. The palate opens earthy, with notes of dirt and a metallic glaze. This wine displays more salivation on the front than the middle and back, leaving moisture forward even as it dries in the back. Tannins and acidity are nicely integrated, allowing for a soft, juicy mouth-feel and a long, peppery finish with notes of dark berries, black cherry and kiwi added in the center during the fade. This wine would go well with scallops and other seafood covered with a light, creamy sauce.
