Food Pairings for Jadot Louis Chambertin Clos de Beze
Really good French Chardonnay. Crisp, clean, hints of slate, lemon chiffon and lemon peel. Very nice acidity and a decent finish.
Alluring nose of raw beef blood and sweet perfumey floral and some nail polish and notes of slightly sour red fruit. In the mouth balanced and well-integrated elements of acid, bitterish nut, and ripe dry slightly bitter and smokey tannic sour red and dark fruit (cranberry, blackberry, dark cherry). Finish of mocha-coffee and hints of wood and mineral and faint fruit. Dry. Body medium, acid medium, tannin medium plus. Delicious.
Big funk and game on the nose. Opens up like a Syrah. Graphite, black and blue fruit, some plum, violets. IT's burly and tannic on the palate, feeling crunchy. Loads of black fruit with strong blueberry and blackberry flavors. Strong acid. Big and complex. Unexpected and very nice! Not like the usual Gamay at all. 3/8/12
I was unfamiliar with this wine until friends came over for dinner and brought a bottle along. After the first sip, I wished I was serving steamed mussels. It would be a great fit! It's got a very smooth, well-balanced bouquet and a subtle, but distinct bite. One reviewer complained of its sharpness, but if you don't want any bite, you should drink a chablis. The wine paired beautifully with the gorgonzola cheese and cucumber/humus spread w/ tomato, black greek olives, and feta cheese and carried us through the antipasto salad w/ mozarella and salami with a splash. I found it delightful. That you can get such a quality French wine for modest price makes the 2009 Jadot Chardonnay Bourgognie a wine you won't be afraid or ashamed to share with friends time and time again.

Bright purple. Spice-accented red and dark berries on the nose, with complicating notes of smoky minerals, dried flowers and black cardamom. Deep cherry-vanilla and black raspberry flavors provide very good palate coverage. Weightier on the finish, where the dark berry and floral notes linger with very good tenacity.
Dunkle, rubinrote Farbe, kräftig und würzig in der Nase, kraftvoll und vollmundig, mit elegant eingebetteten Tanninen, langer Abgang. Verfeinert sich noch mit den Jahren.
Just named to the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2010!! Moulin-a-Vent is the king of Cru Beaujolais and this single estate boasts almost 70 prime vineyard acres on five different lots. Louis Jadot purchased the Chateau des Jacques in 1996 and since has producing estate bottled wines from these vineyards that is truly oustanding. The Wine Advocate recently rated this 2009, 91-92 points saying "Representing a blend from all five of their sites but favoring Champ de Cour and Carquelin, Chateau des Jacques’s 2009 Moulin-a-Vent smells of black and red raspberry, with heliotrope and lily overtones. With a striking and surprising sense of seamless oily-richness to its sweetly, exuberantly berry-brimmed palate impression, this reveals satisfying low-toned salted meat stock character that persists all the way through a lingering, lip-smacking finish. I suspect this already exceptional value will gain detail and finesse and be worth following for 4-6 years." Don't miss it.
Supple and red fruited with a strawberry freshness, this wine's deep color and purple ripeness give few clues to its complexities. It firms up with air, revealing a mouthwatering tannin as edgy as crushed rock. The fruit develops toward delicacy, lasting through a crisp and elegant finish. Cellar this for four or five years, and then serve it with flavorful, grass-fed beef.
Graphite and vanilla aromas mix with the pure raspberry coulis, fig and ripe cherry fruit in this bright, lively red. There's a sublayer of smoke and iron notes, with a lightly chewy finish. Drink now through 2014

From France's Burgundy region, this classical structured medium-bodied white wine is partly aged in oak barrels while the other part is aged in stainless steel tanks. This results in a wine with both breadth and fruitness.
