Ripe aromas of yellow fruits, crushed stone and smoky oak. Sweet, silky and seamless but given definition and grip by a strong component of dusty stone. Sappy and dense but quite fine, and already very expressive. Strongest on the energetic back end, which boasts chewy flavor intensity and enticing aromatic persistence. A suave, strong wine that can be tasted now but should also age well. Even better than it appeared to be a year ago." ST

This is also mildly surprising as it's the ripest wine in the range and without its usual aromatic elegance with a moderately expressive nose of peach compote, citrus and floral hints that give way to dense, long and powerful flavors that do possess the hallmark minerality and refined mouth feel, all wrapped in a driving finish brimming with dry extract. This is very impressive though by no means typical of the appellation , at least not at this point. Burghound , Issue 31, July 01, 2008
