Jacob's Creek Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir NV

Winemaker's Notes:

Colour: Mid straw green with a fine gas bead and persistent mousse. Bouquet: The refreshing lemon citrus aromas of Chardonnay are in harmony with the red currant characters of Pinot Noir. Palate: Generous citrus fruit flavours are enhanced with creamy nutty yeast characters providing both richness and structure. The wine finishes soft, crisp and clean. ANALYSIS Alcohol: 11.5% Total Acid: 6.1 g/l pH: 3.15 www.jacobscreek.com

In 1847, a young Bavarian immigrant called Johann Gramp missed the wine he used to drink in his home land. Instead of changing his habits, he decided to start growing grapes and attempt to make the wine himself. It was a way of adapting to a new country, but still staying true to his character. What he didn’t know was that when he planted the Barossa Valley’s first commercial vineyard along the banks of Jacob’s Creek, he was also planting the seeds of one of the most popular wine brands in the world that would be named after the waterway.  Today,  Jacob's Creek remains one of the most well known, trusted and enjoyed Australian wines around the world. It delivers fresh, elegant and great tasting wines that show true varietal character.  The philosophy of Jacob's Creek is to offer a range of wines that suit all occasions.  As a company, we concentrate on two key things: The first is continuous improvement. Every vintage we strive to improve the quality of our wines by refining our winemaking practices and continually gaining a greater understanding of our vineyards. The second is that in everything we do, at every step of the winemaking process, from the vineyards all the way through to your glass, we all work with the final destination in mind. We do it for the most important wine critic. You. Read less

Got a 200ml bottle of this on my flight to Sydney. Was surprisingly refreshing and enjoyable. Would definitely consider this for an everyday sparkling wine since the price is great.

Its not often I do not like a Champagne blend sparkling wine but was left really disappointed with this one. Far too sweet, far too sharp, far too loud.............the taste is just too much citrus and any subtlety (if there is any) is completely lost. One glass is enough thanks.

Cantaloupe and floral nose; more cantaloupe on the palate. Quite dry, but not too much acidity. Went well with sushi.

Pale salmon pink color. Nice and dry. Casual sparkling wine for summer day on the grass outside.

Chief Winemaker Philip Laffer says that he wanted this wine to be of an ?aperitif style?that once you count to five, it should all disappear.? In both respects, the wine succeeds. It?s 20% Pinot Noir, with very light stone fruit flavors and wide foamy mousse on the palate. Chalk and stone fruit flash on the finish. Only 3 or 4,000 cases on the U.S. market now, but many more are sure to follow.

Wine Spectator ReviewRated 86Bright and lively, with smoky green apple and fresh-baked bread flavors, finishing crisp. Drink now.
