User Reviews for Jacob's Creek Shiraz Reserve
Add your reviewWell balanced. Tasty. Wonderful light sediment. I really enjoyed this. Will buy again.
Very enjoyable shiraz that never gets old. Nicely balanced, yet complex with a short, pleasant finish.
2005 Jacobs Creek Reserve Shiraz is an outstanding low priced wine getting harder to get. The 2006 is ok but not as good
Aromatic, loved the first scent that hit my nose. Berries with some pepper. Not bad at all.

Wine Tasting NotesDeep Crimson with purple hues. The wine shows concentrated juicy cherry and blackberry fruit, with fragrant spice and black pepper notes, slight mint, complimented by subtle mocha / coffee oak and toasty cedar oak notes. The wine displays intense blackberry and cherry with lively black pepper notes. It is full bodied with strong palate presence. It demonstrates soft silkiness and firm tannin backbone. Expressive Smokey cedar oak characters compliments a wine with great length of flavor, with complex notes of blackberry and spice. The Jacobs Creek Reserve Shiraz owes its complexity to the integration of moderate to warm climate ripe blackberry lusciousness with stylish cool climate black pepper and spice characters. The enticing nature of the generous yet approachable fruit flavors ensure that the wine can be enjoyed by those who choose to drink it now; however it has sufficient depth of flavor and density of structure to evolve further over the next 10 years if cellared carefully.
An intense and fragrant wine this reserve from Jacobs Creek is aged up to 20 months in French and American oak barrels. After aging only the best lots make it into the final blend. The tannins are soft and supple and the flavors are a complex intermingling of blackberry, plum, cedar, coffee and spice. Wine Spectator Vintage Rating: 97 not sponsored by or affiliated with The Wine Spectator
The Reserve wines from Jacob's Creek continue to offer excellent value, and with 90,000 cases imported, this should be easy to find. No, its' not the most intense and concentrated Shiraz, but this medium-bodied wine offers silky tannins, plenty of blackberry and blueberry fruit touched with dried spices and a supple finish. Drink now.

This premium, full bodied wine is an outstanding example of South Australian Shiraz, displaying an intensity of ripe plum with pepper spice, balanced by soft grape and oak tannins, leading to a lingering smooth finish. An ideal accompaniment to most red meats, game and cheeses. A wine that will develop further with cellaring.
