Heavily oaked. With a little decanting this wine will most likely even out. Read more

Lots of typical Shiraz flavor. Fruity and spicy with a nice medium length finish. Add to the great price and you find a pretty good wine. Read more

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Very spicy up front and very fruity on the tongue - this would probably be a hard wine to pair, though. I think if I got it again I'd try it with a fairly pungent cheese... but I don't know if I'd buy a bottle again on purpose.

Popped and poured. Nose is fairly weak. A hint of smoke, pepper and blackberry. Has some heat. Should probably be decanted. Somewhat bitter flavor. Fruit is not bad though. For $10, it's a nice choice, but I've definitely had much better Shiraz. Even at this price point. Good/Very Good - 85 points
