User Reviews for Jacob's Creek Shiraz Cabernet
Add your reviewAffordable, but came with a price. This is one of my least favorite tastes of the 10 wines I sampled in early 2013.
A medium ruby red color with purple tints. This particular wine has a rich layer of fruit flavors and a supple, long-lasting palate.
Pretty open wine, easy going, medium bodied very fruity, great for opening and drinking with a few friends
A good BBQ wine. I enjoyed it through this summer. Price was reasonable. It is a young wine but is very inviting and had a lingering aftertaste (words from Snooth's Help! What do i write)
External Reviews for Jacob's Creek Shiraz Cabernet
Light and fruity, with pretty raspberry and cream notes, finishing with a modest bite of tannin. Drink now.
Smooth and generous, with pretty plum and cherry flavors. Drink now.
A light, smooth quaffer that'll get you through the summer, this blend of 81% Shiraz and 29% Cabernet Sauvignon boasts aromas and flavors of charcoal-grilled black cherries tinged with chocolate.
Intense plum and berry fruit with classic spicy Shiraz notes, married to the leafy, mint and chocolate of Cabernet Sauvignon and a hint of vanillin oak. The palate is medium-bodied, with generous cherry/berry fruits and spicy plum flavors complemented by well-integrated, subtle, mouth-filling chocolate tannins and a soft, balanced finish.
The rustic cherry fruit of this wine is jammy but not heavy. Serve it with lamb, braised or grilled.
On the light side, with pretty plum and spice flavors and a fine-grained texture, finishing with some unexpected generosity. Drink now through 2005.
Winemaker's Notes:
Colour: Medium depth garnet. Bouquet: Vibrant fruit aromas of black cherry and plum with aniseed and cloves supported by subtle toasty oak. Palate: Attractive ripe berry fruit characters from the bouquet carry through with medium-bodied, soft and approachable tannins; this wine shows the harmony which can be achieved by carefully blending parcels of soft, rounded Shiraz with finely structured Cabernet Sauvignon, creating a wine with richly layered fruit flavours and a supple, long-lasting palate.
