Editorial Reviews for Jacob's Creek Chardonnay Barossa Valley
Very citrussy on the nose with lemon and lime notes and some interesting, starchy green cactus leaf/aloe leaf. There are some hints of oak with perhaps a touch of fennel, but this is rather high toned and fruit driven, if atypical. Rather light bodied on entry, this gains weight in the mouth and shows fine inner mouth tension and a lovely, sleek structure supporting ripe but not weighty fruit. There’s more green on the palate which is not unpleasant, but is unusual in that the citrus fruits are backed with that soft, vegetal tone. The finish is lovely with sour fruits, underlying wood spices and a nice pop of minerality that refreshes the palate. I love the mouth feel here, mostly taut but covered with a gauze of fruit. 88pts

Add your reviewPale yellow. Initially dry, somewhat flinty, tropical fruits topped off with a limey citrus finish. The oak is very subtle, coming through only with a slight hint of smokiness. An easy drinking refreshing white wine.
2007 Jacob's Creek/Orlando Chardonnay Reserve. Decent Aussie chardonnay although a bit heavy on the oak. More on the earthy side, not as acidic or fruity as most Australian chards. May be due to the age of this bottle, probably past its prime.

A cool moist winter continued into Spring and was followed by fine weather during flowering. This resulted in higher than expected yields and a slightly late harvest. A warm dry Summer ensured disease free Chardonnay grapes, and fine weather during the harvest season allowed grapes to ripen under ideal conditions. These factors produced Chardonnay grapes with rich and fresh varietal flavours.
Pear, peach and apple flavors dominate this medium-bodied wine. Agreeable but not exciting, with a modest finish. Drink now, while it's fresh.

Ripe pineapple flavors fill this simple, straightforward, juicy white. Itrsquo;s clean and balanced, and not sweet. A great buy at $8.
Simple, clean and refreshing, with pretty citrus and green melon flavors that finish with a nice zing. Drink now.
A fresh and lively white, its charm to its affordability, with an attractive apricot like accent to its pear and apple character. Drink now.
Medium straw color with deep vibrant green hues. The bouquet is of rich peach-melon fruit with a very subtle hint of oak and buttery complexity. On the palate, ripe peach-melon fruit flavors with a silky, creamy, full texture balanced by a soft fresh acid finish.
Winemaker's Notes:
Colour: Pale straw with green hues. Bouquet: Attractive aromas of citrus and ripe melon fruits with hints of toasty oak. Palate: Fresh varietal flavours of rockmelon and lemon citrus with attractive creamy nuances, subtle oak and soft acidity that leads to a well balanced fruit driven finish.
