When I was young, I loved ice wines, the extreme sweetness, overwhelming fruitiness...is there anything more fitting for children? Ah. However, with the passing of puberty came taste and this...
Jackson-Triggs is possibly one of the most easily procured ice wines in the US, meaning if you pop around to any grocer's, World Market, Costco even...if there is one ice wine on the shelf it's bound to be Jackson-triggs. Pleasant little bottle but hard to handle. There is a pleasant shock of fruit that is quite impressive but the wine has no balance, has no depth (am I expecting too much read more...from a simple ice wine?) and simply overwhelms you with sweetness.
If you are looking for a simple dessert wine, this is...not clean and lacks basic charm, but of course slightly more popular than Inniskillin (the second most easily procured ice wine that is, in my opinion, just a step up)...then Jackson-Triggs is alright. Chill well, very very well quite difficult to handle otherwise. (hide)
