Jackson-Triggs Grand Proprietor's Reserve Cabernet Franc Icewine(2002)

Our 2002 Grand Reserve Cabernet Franc Icewine was harvested on January 10th 2003. The naturally frozen grapes were pressed at an average temperature of -10C, thus enhancing the varietal's sweetness and concentrated aromatic flavours. Soft crimson in colour, this luscious wine displays alluring aromas of raspberries and plums with hints of figs. Full in body, the intense flavours of berries and rhubarb marry with a touch of pepper and spice on the extended silky finish. Serve slightly chilled on its own, with fresh fruit, chocolate mousse, rich pate or a selection of fine cheeses.

I absolutely love this icewine. Although vidal or other white icewine is common in the Niagara region of Canada, this cabernet franc icewine is truly a special treat. With deliciously syropy strawberry flavour, I can't recommend this dessert wine enough, if you can find it. Fortunately, I got a bottle while visiting the winery itself :) Enjoy
