J Zinfandel Russian River Valley 2004
The nose of the 2004 J Zinfandel is redolent of dark stone fruits, dried violets and baking spices like clove, anise and cinnamon. The aromas lead the way to a silky mid palate brimming with ripe blackberry, tart cherry fruit flavors, vanilla, and hints of smokiness and white pepper. The wine finishes with a balance of warm spice, ripe dark fruits and smooth vanilla.
Flown to kentucky and enjoyed at the Blind Pig Resturant. The wine seeped through the cork all the way to the mouth of the bottle yet the wine remained intact. Lucious berry flavors with light pepper made for a wonderful accompanyment with our short ribs and porkbelly respectively... and naturally, followed by some fine Kentucky burbon.
