The 2010 J Vineyards Viognier features a very subtle gardenia and orange blossom fragrance on the nose. This seductive, layered wine exhibits creamy peach, honey and vanilla flavor on the palate. Viognier is the perfect “bridge” wine for salads featuring multiple greens. The key is to not drench the greens with heavy dressings. Fresh, crisp, and clean are the watchwords for food pairings with Viognier. Our Executive Chef Mark E. Caldwell suggests pairing this wine with spinach and arugula salad drizzled with a light sherry vinaigrette dressing. Add several small slices of summer melon and thinly shaved prosciutto for maximum flavor experience.
