J Vineyards & Winery Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Nicole's Vineyard 2007
Selected grape clusters were hand-harvested at night to ensure the best conditions. While still cool, the fruit was hand-sorted, gently destemmed and gravity fed into our open-top fermenters for wholeberry fermentation. Daily tastings determine the precise balance of fruit and tannins before the wine goes to barrel. Our minimalist approach to making Pinot Noirs is designed to yield a wine that reflects, in both aroma and flavor, the location in which it was grown.
Aging for 2+ years in our wine cellar proved to receive a scintilating aroma from the nose. The Tannin structure had softened and delighted our palates with ripe berries and a lovely overall balance to amplify our 4 month wedding anniversary dinner at Fontana's in Cupertino, Ca.

Food Pairings for J Vineyards & Winery Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Nicole's Vineyard
Aromas of leather, mushroom and cocoa intermingle with dark plum, cinnamon and vanilla. The wine has a smooth entry with a rich and fleshy mid-palate followed by a long, spicy finish with notes of fig, dark cherry and fennel mixed with caramel undertones. This firmly immense and well-balanced wine is a beautiful expression of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
