J.S. Hofherr Pinot Noir Napa Valley Dijon Clones 2005
Our grapes are picked at night to preserve freshness. The fruit is then carefully hand-sorted before de-stemming into a variety of open-top and closed-top fermenters. The must is given 5 days of cold soaking before fermentation is allowed to begin. Malolactic fermentation occurred in 100% French oak barrels. Our process allows us to craft a wine that is balanced, exhibiting layered complexity of flavors and aromas.
Most classic of the Iron Horse sparkling wines. Yeast and dough like classic champagne but with apple and pear flavors.
Easy drinking pinot noir with raspberry, blackberry, grilled meat, and spice aromas/flavors.
Dangerously easy to drink. Should be called Love Potion #10. Perfect for engagements, weddings, wedding gifts, anniversaries, any romantic occasion. Absolutely delicious with dark, dark, bittersweet, high cocoa content chocolate.

Sleek and crisp, with fresh cherry and apple aromas and polished lemon, anise and creamy vanilla flavors, finishing on a vibrant mineral note. Drink now through 2014.
The Wedding Cuvée is one of Iron Horse's sweeter bubblies, but it's not a sweet wine. It's soft, creamy and delicious. Brimming with flavors of green apples, strawberries, brioche and pepper, it continues the winery's brilliant tradition of crafting some of the finest sparkling wines in California.
This is always one of Iron Horse's nicest sparklers. It seems softer, rounder, creamier and fruitier than the others - it certainly is relatively high in alcohol, yet is no less elegant. Just delicious in strawberry, lime, vanilla and lees flavors, with a clean, uplifting finish.
Classic Russian River Pinot, made in a drink-me-now style. Light in body, it's fully dry, with a silky texture framing cherry, cola, pomegranate and sautéed Portobello mushrooms with a splash of balsamic. A hint of oaky toast adds complexity. - S.H.
Maybe it's all marketing, but this does seem to be an ideal wedding toast bubbly. There's something for everyone. Despite being almost Pinot Noir, it's light and delicate, with a crisp elegance and a fine mousse, and that effervescent pleasure that only a fine bubbly provides.
This is Iron Horse's Blanc de Noirs, made from predominately Pinot Noir. It has a beautiful, pale-peach hue. Rich and creamy, like pure strawberries and cream, this is without doubt the most romantic of Sparklings. It is dangerously easy to drink. A favorite for many, Iron Horse is probably best known for this cuveeFood Pairing: Marries perfectly with frisee salad with diced bacon and a Pinot Noir vinaigrette, Chinese chicken salad, scrambled eggs and caviar, rock shrimp and potato frittata, mushroom dishes such as a grilled Portobello sandwich or wild mushroom risotto, poached salmon - hot or cold, and best of all, chocolate dipped strawberries
Food Pairings for J.S. Hofherr Pinot Noir Napa Valley Dijon Clones
The 2005 vintage is an elegant wine with a complex nose of fresh fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry and cranberry followed by hints of white pepper, cola, and spicy, earthy notes. This wine offers crisp acidity upon entry unfolding with flavors of black cherry, raspberry and hints of vanilla, evolving and gaining complexity as the wine breathes. Rich, yet delicate, the mouthfeel is round, soft and intense, which leads to a lingering finish of Bing cherries and notes of toast.
