Crisp fresh apple and pear tart. Very nice! - Tasted at winery Feb 2011
This is a light and fruit forward wine that has enough depth to compliment a number of chicken, light pork and white seafood dishes. By itself, it's crispiness makes it a hit on a warm day. We like it because it seems to bridge Fume and Grigio drinkers - a great selection for a social gathering!
A really great Pinot Grigio, pretty round and consistent in all aspects: medium bodied with smooth consistent but non-distinct fruit that delicately bounces from the glass to your nose. An all together pleasant wine that I had open for a few days and it kept pretty well.
Poured and drank at room temp. Honestly, the nose was rather disappointing. I was struggling to get anything from it. Initially, I was able to sense a hint of pear, and some general light fruit scents, like green apple; but that was it. I kept trying and trying to sniff, but really could get anything else....boo. First taste was fairly smooth and fruity. It has a fresh green and yellow orange fruit to it. Again, like the nose, difficult to pinpoint, but I do agree with some others about the pear and peach. It is very pleasant and smooth, fairly well structured. Almost none to none at all, effervescence. Most of the PG's I have had, always have a hint or more of it, but this does not. It finishes a little on the hot side (+14% alc.). Despite how this note sounds fairly negative, I rather enjoyed this wine. If the nose opened up a bit more and didn't finish quite so hot, it would definitely fall into the +90 category; however with these factors, 86+
Leads with tropical fruit aromas of pineapple, mango and guava blended with delicate notes of honeysuckle, pear and Fuji apple. On the palate, flavors echo the nose, exploding with bright and juicy tangerine, pear and apple flavors that carry on to a crisp and tangy finish.
One of my favorite wines. I've loved it for years and it never disappoints.

A rich sleek white with the gentleness of coastal rain. J's Pinot gris has simple flavors of the grape and nutty lees. It ends on a tart lemon note.
Whole grape clusters were hand-harvested and pressed gently in J's uniquely gentle Coquard press, which minimizes extraction of harsh components from the skins and seeds. Each vineyard is fermented on its own, often broken into multiple lots, using a variety of yeast. The juice is kept in 100% stainless steel, is fermented slowly at cool temperatures, and undergoes no malolactic fermentation. This preserves the integrity of the fruit allowing full expression of each vineyard.
The 2008 J Pinot Gris Russian River Valley has an enticing bouquet of white peach, orange blossom and honeysuckle, with hints of mango and jasmine. The soft entry and velvety mouthfeel unfold into flavors of sweet summer melon and Meyer lemon cream. There is a hint of honey on the palette that compliments the fruit and acid nicely. This well-balanced, multi-layered wine is a great companion to a variety of foods, from spicy Thai cuisine to Thanksgiving Dinner, as well as a beautiful stand-alone summer sipper.
