Food Pairings for J Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay
Butter and Oak. Family favorite.
aromas of toast, bisquits, and buttercup with hints of golden apples and citrus fruits. Oak tasted on the palate with a toasty vanilla, citrus notes on the finish, nice acidity balanced with the fruit. enjoyed with lighter dishes.
Very good price for this Chardonnay but it didn't bring much to the table that made it unique. Dry with good acidity and a mineral taste that is very subtle. Slight hints of peach and apricot but overall I wish I could pull more from it.
Of the many Rieslings I have recently tried this is one of my favorites. Not sweet like some Riesling but has a crisp apple, peach, and spice flavor. Very pleasant finish and great wine to drink on a hot day. Very refreshing.
Served chilled. Good fruit with excellent nuances of vanilla and oak. Medium to full body with nice but not overpowering acidity. Very enjoyable.
A Go-to Chardonnay! perfect balance of fruit and oak. Lovely with seafood or poultry especially on the grill.
too dry and crisp not what I was expecting from a Riesling.

Drink on its own as a wonderfully complex and lively aperitif or as a great accompaniment to seafood, particularly lobster and shrimps or to any white meat dish.
Wine Tasting NotesThe J. Lohr Estates Bay Mist White Riesling is a very youthful, pale brassy yellow color with enticing fruit aromas of apricot, passion fruit, lychee, curry and coconut. The 2.14% residual sugar is balanced by the crisp grape acidity and natural spritz from a long, cool fermentation, making the White Riesling a delightfully fruity, refreshing wine, capable of complementing the vibrant flavors of Pacific Rim cuisine, Indian curried chicken, or served as an aperitif.
Great balance of fruit and oak with the great California toastiness. The price is even better.
The aromas are of nectarine, peach pie and apple--combined with the perfumed vanilla and toasted oak bouquet from barrel and malolactic fermentation and sur lie aging--creating an elegant Chardonnay from Monterey's Arroyo Seco AVA. The flavors are very clean, with peach, nectarine and citrus with subtle butter and vanilla toastiness, producing layers of complexity with an excellent balance of fresh fruit acidity and palate weight.
