J. Lohr Late Harvest White Riesling 2009
The J. Lohr Estates Bay Mist White Riesling is a very youthful, pale brassy yellow color with enticing fruit aromas of apricot, passion fruit, lychee, curry and coconut. The 2.14% residual sugar is balanced by the crisp grape acidity and natural spritz from a long, cool fermentation, making the White Riesling a delightfully fruity, refreshing wine, capable of complementing the vibrant flavors of Pacific Rim cuisine, Indian curried chicken, or served as an aperitif.
Nice wine for the price -- mild fruit, slight bit of sweetness and smooth finish. Pairs well with spicy food.

Rating: 86/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. Geared to candied peaches and pears in both scent and taste and showing a hint of floral perfume from start to finish, this clean, nicely balanced, slightly sweet offering makes up in sheer quaffability for what it may lack in varietal precision. Light and lively and showing well in its youth, it is an ideal partner to late-summer picnicky fare.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.
