Beautiful black fruit and a lovely dollop of cream on the nose. Awesome spice, violets, cinnamon, black pepper, licorice, coffee and chocolate. A rich complex and delicious wine!
2008 Napa Valley.
If you like Cabs and Red Zins...Here is the perfect marraige. It's a cab with the fruit that Paso Robles so graciously delivers with it's hot days and full sun. Give me a couple cases and a desert island...and Mr. Wilson.

California Grapevine ReviewMedium-dark purplish ruby; attractive, intense, cedary, slightly jammy, blueberry and sweet black cherry fruit aroma with hints of anise, graphite, and vanilla; full body; forward, rich, plush, plummy, juicy, raspberry and black cherry fruit flavors; medium-full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Forward, rich fruit makes this wine very enjoyable to taste now.Wine Tasting NotesVery dark, red-purple in color with youthful hues, the J. Lohr Hilltop Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has complex aromas of black cherries and blackberries with a bouquet of cedar, anise, licorice, tar and vanilla toasted oak. The Hilltop is a plump, luscious mouthful of wine, with supple yet ample texture and balance, reminiscent of Bordeauxs finest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines with the structure to age for 10 to 15 years. 96.3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.7% Petit Verdot.
