External Reviews for J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot
The aroma is dominated by blueberry, raspberry and cherry fruit and layered with lifted spicy, cedary oak. The palate is greated by an array of red fruits similar to those on the nose, with tar, cedar and forest floor adding complexity. The wine has a full mid-palate and finish that carries the wine through, with a lingering hint of fruit and licorice spice.
The 2008 J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot has a mature red color with a bright raspberry hue. Black cherry and pomegranate aromas are complimented by an oak signature reminiscent of cedar and dark chocolate. This soft wine has finely textured tannins and is bright and lively on the palate with a finish of Rainier cherry fruit. - Winery
Good price for a Merlot this tasty. It's softly tannic and juicy, rich in fat in black cherry pie, bacon and toast flavors. A versatile full-bodied red wine for drinking now.
Rich and juicy, this simple merlot has smoky black fruit while remaining cool. For a grilled tri-tip.
An elegantly structured wine with real quality and finesse. It drinks bone dry, with cherry, moo shu pork sauce, mocha and smoky oak flavors wrapped into velvety, firm tannins. Drink now.
Here's a Merlot that's forward in jammy black cherry, blackberry and chocolate flavors. It's soft, in the way of warm country wines, but the firm tannins provide a good structure.
The 2008 Cypress Vineyards Merlot presents a garnet red color of medium density with hues indicative of full maturation. Lovely aromas of fresh plums, red currants and sour cherry, are complemented by a subtle hint of mint. The soft texture of this wine follows through to a long and satisfying finish. T
