An elegantly structured wine with real quality and finesse. It drinks bone dry, with cherry, moo shu pork sauce, mocha and smoky oak flavors wrapped into velvety, firm tannins. Drink now.
Here's a Merlot that's forward in jammy black cherry, blackberry and chocolate flavors. It's soft, in the way of warm country wines, but the firm tannins provide a good structure.
Winemakers Notes - The 2008 J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot has a mature red color with a bright raspberry hue. Black cherry and pomegranate aromas are complimented by an oak signature reminiscent of cedar and dark chocolate. This soft wine has finely textured tannins and is bright and lively on the palate with a finish of Rainier cherry fruit.
This California red offers a soft, inviting nose of blackberry and dark ripe cherry. The palate is round, rich and velvety, bursting with deep, black fruits. Accents of spicy oak and a dusting of tannins makes this red as inviting as your favorite sweatshirt. Deliciously balanced, it will match well with your next steak dinner.
Rich and juicy, this simple merlot has smoky black fruit while remaining cool. For a grilled tri-tip.
The 2000 vintage is a moderately dark plum-red in color with complex red fruit aromas of dried cherries, blueberry, red currant and violet and a bouquet of coffee, chocolate, roasted nuts and toast. It shows concentration, with ripe, soft tannins that make it drinkable now but should develop beautifully with extended bottle aging.
The aroma is dominated by blueberry, raspberry and cherry fruit and layered with lifted spicy, cedary oak. The palate is greated by an array of red fruits similar to those on the nose, with tar, cedar and forest floor adding complexity. The wine has a full mid-palate and finish that carries the wine through, with a lingering hint of fruit and licorice spice.
