J. Lohr Cuvée St. E 2007
Dark red-purple in color with aromas of black plum, blueberry and violet, blended with the scent of crème brulée from twenty-one months aging in new French oak barrels. The wine displays the true varietal nature of Cabernet Franc, with supple, sweet tannins and mid to rear structure from both the fruit and maturation time. Palate weight is quite dense due to the generous contribution of Cabernet Sauvignon in this year’s blend.
Aromas of smoke and cranberry. It wasn't bone dry so I think it would appeal to several different palates, especially at Thanksgiving. It would be perfect with turkey and cranberry sauce. Color was translucent, red-purple strawberrish.

This is probably my most favorite red. I got a chance to try this at the J.Lohr store in Paso Robles and loved it. We ended up getting a case of it. Between friends and parties, it was quickly gone. It's smooth and balanced. We tried it with pasta and a heavy red sauce. We also paired it with a nice rare filet. But it really goes well with almost any food you can pair a good red. Highly recommend you pick this up next time you get a chance.
This wine is a trip. The aroma is a big waft of caramelized pecans. A thin wine compared to your typical varietals it has flavors of caramelized pecans, dark fruit and a hint of oak. It's probably better as a compliment to dessert than anything else. BF.

Wine Tasting NotesVibrant purple-red in color with youthful hues, our Wildflower Valdiguie has intense varietal aromas of boysenberry, raspberry, blackberry and bing cherry preserves with a black pepper note. The brambly fruit aromas with black pepper carry through on the palate and are balanced by the moderate acidity and touch of residual sugar. This wine has the capability of aging up to 10 years, but it should be enjoyed in its youth with barbecued salmon, roasted pork or wild fowl. It also complements Brie, Swiss and Edam cheeses. Serve slightly chilled.
