Clean and high toned on the nose with a hint of wood sweetness and spice accenting nice black cherry fruit. Rich, fleshy and dense on entry, this shows good power and length to the concentrated black fruits in the mouth though it does turn a bit flat and dull on the backend before hitting a wall of tannins that clips the finish. Ultimately a bit simple and trying to make up for it with power. 87pts

This is sappy and fresh on the nose with a touch of lift from some alcohol and maybe a smidge of VA. The aromatics really gain in intensity but stay within a moderate register of mineral and rosemary inflected wild red berries. In the mouth this starts out with some distinctly hard acids that make the balanced tannins seem a bit soft. There seems to be a bit of hollowness at first on the palate and the alcohol is a bit obvious but the palate fills in well with red fruit and gentle spice notes. This has excellent focus and is aggressively structured yet wonderfully well balanced with excellent purity and great length if a touch simple. A very pretty wine that is so well made. 91pts

Nicely plush for the vintage, with tangy iron and white pepper notes melded into the damson plum and black cherry fruit. Theres a lingering perfume on the finish. Drink now through 2013. 200 cases imported. Wine Spectator. A Syrah wine from Rhone in France. 2008 J L Chave St Joseph 750ml

The 2005 Hermitage blanc is an amazing effort that defines the classic style of white Hermitage. It offers hints of marzipan, roasted hazelnuts, quince, licorice, honeysuckle, citrus oil, and wet stones. It is a superbly concentrated and powerful win... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Intensives Rubin, fast violett.

Deep red. Explosive aromas of vibrant strawberry, raspberry and kirsch, with a subtle licorice undertone. Brisk red fruit flavors are seductively sweet and nicely framed by velvety tannins. Finishes with very persistent red fruits and gentle, sappy grip.
