Most of us didn't imagine where we would be right now. Sure, we dreamed of being firemen, astronauts, rock stars and superheroes, but life often takes you where you didn't expect it to. My brother and I worked every harvest from the time we could ride our bikes. After college, our careers took us beyond the land our grandfather planted in 1924. Ironically, today we are more fulfilled, working side-by-side at the family vineyard & winery. We didn't plan it or expect it, but we are enjoying this strange twist in our lives. That's Irony - a bottle full of life's strange twists and a celebration of our family's life-long commitment to producing the finest quality wines. -- Chris & Jay Read less

This review is of Irony Pinot Noir, Monterey County, 2005. I was looking for a wine under $15 to take to a wine and food pairing dinner. I wanted something to match with a pork roast in a cranberry sauce. I tried several PNs and ultimately decided on the Irony. It had lots of berry fruit and good acidity. It matched the dish very well and several participants asked where they could buy it. It is sometimes discounted to @ $12.

Very disappointing. Super tart, going toward a spoiled acidity. When I sipped this, I involuntarily made a face I usually reserve for wines that have gone bad. Just plain odd.

This Monterey Pinot Noir offers a balance of heady fruit notes and savory characteristics. Layers of sweet cherry, fresh raspberries, cola and earthy mushrooms make up the profile in this medium-bodie
