Ironstone Cabernet Franc California 2010
Our signature Cabernet Franc, grown in the Lodi appellation, is known for its balance and medium body. Expressive aromas of bright red berry fruits mixed with a light spice and a hint of fresh herbs leads to flavors of red cherry and raspberry with vanilla-oak undertones. Food Pairing: Cabernet Franc is a great wine to accompany any number of dishes. Grilled red meats and game are perfectly suited for this wine as well as roasted pork tenderloin. It's also amazing with rich dark chocolate desserts.
light red color....big nose of violets, bell pepper, and red fruit....very smooth mouthfeel with a dry finish.....great fruit on the palatte with hints of vanilla and bell pepper
Very Chilean. Lots of leather and tobacco with a strong vegetal component. This is definitely not for everyone and the mention of Lodi on the label probably reminds people of soft sweet Zinfandels, which this certainly is not. Paired with bratwurst but would also go well with a mushroom based dish.
Big fan of Cab Francs to begin with. For the price, this is a super value. Another great drinking red. Highly recommended for those just getting started with reds.
