Iron Horse Vineyards Rosé Blend Green Valley Brut Rosé 2003

Winemaker's Notes:

The wildest of the Iron Horse Sparklings and surprisingly the driest. Bold and vibrant in both color and taste, it is pure exuberance. The color and richness come from cold soaking the Pinot Noir on the skins.

Continue down the hill, across a small bridge, past the vegetable gardens, up a winding oak lined drive, between a row of alternating palm and olive trees and finally to the charming Iron Horse Winery, where you will enjoy a stunning view all the way across Sonoma County to Mt. St. Helena. The winery is best known for its Sparkling Wines. The Obama Adminstration is the fifth consecutive presidental administration to serve Iron Horse at the White House, a tradition that began in 1985 with the historic U.S.-Russian Summit Meetings ending the Cold War. The Chardonnay is cool climate perfection. Pinot Noir is the winery’s rising star wine. Read less

Lots of raspberry in the nose and taste. Sharp acidity and more fruity than I expected.

Again, I'm a huge fan of the sparkling rose' and WOW, this one is incredible. At first, I thought it might have been the setting. The outdoor tasting room in Sebastopol feels like paradise. (A MUST on any wine tour!) But we brought a case home with us and it puts a smile on our face ever time we pop one open and indulge. Production is very limited... and I waited almost three years before their latest release of the Brut Rose'. And I think supplies are almost gone. Doh! TRY THIS!!!
