Editorial Reviews for Iron Horse Vineyards Pinot Noir Green Valley Estate Rosé de Pinot Noir
Floral with sweet caramel accents to the Brie yeastiness on the nose with a subtle edge of toastiness, and candied apple undertones Floral on entry and quite sweet with lots of fruit, a bit of strawberry, lots of sweet pear, sweetness adds richness here but obscures the detail. Some fine strawberry suggestions emerge on the backend along with plenty of yeasty complexity. The finish is a pop of sweetness then cleansing acid, wrapped in a moderately creamy, rich mouthfeel. 89pts
Same base, a hint of brandy added 10gr With a sweet nuttiness on the nose, then floral aromas and notes of dried peaches, melon and pear all topped with touch of cotton candy makes for a fabulous nose. Love the balance of freshness, sweetness and aged character here. Nuanced, bright, clear and tense in the mouth in a very brisk and clean style that highlights the chalk and mineral flavors on the palate while leaving layers of hazelnuts and peach to the long finish. This is a little large scaled but shows real finesse in the mouth. A gorgeous wine. 92pts
Really yeasty on the nose with sweet, ripe fruit notes. On the palate this is surprisingly hard and very dry with an assertive earthy, and almost metallic tone over rich strawberry fruit but finishes with some bitter, and dirty notes that detract from the impressive depth this offers. 83pts
This immediately impresses with huge lemon curd and biscuit notes on the nsoe that are vivid and complex and layered over notes of dried apricot. The mousse is slightly coarse though this is really very well balanced with deep, earthy flavors. The acids keep this so well balanced and accentuate the elegance and length this offers. 91pts
Mineral on the nose with notes of dried fruits, dried dates, and apply fruit. In the mouth this is lovely and strong with a core of apple and citrus fruits married to a medium bodied wine with a superfine mousse. 88pts
out of magnum – Crisp on the nose with great focus and finesse to the apricot pit, pear, herb, steely mineral and yeast aromas. In the mouth this is subtle and crisp with a top note of sassafras overly the unabashedly fruity, and gently sweet mid-palate that is laced with vanilla and honey. An in your face style of bubbly but in it’s own way very appealing. 91pts
Gorgeous sparkler. Vibrant strawberry and tart cherries, delicate bubbles, slightly biscuity. A perfect aperitif!
Strawberry and citrus aromas, with some lighter fruit flavors. Enjoyable but veering toward being too light.
Same base as the Classic Vintage Brut, but slightly sweeter and fruitier. Apple and pear aromas and flavors. Great nose. Definitely sweeter but not a "sweet wine".
Nice and solid
funky, herbal aromas and a little bitter on the palate, under-riped fruit, green raspberries, old yeast and earthy, but doesn't balance well with the fruit
Has a candied nose (although there was a slight chlorine tint to it). Clean and crisp with bright strawberry fruits.
a crispness and citrus on the nose with fresh toast. the palate filled with apples, melons, peach combined with some stone and minerality qualities and great acidic finish.

Wine Enthusiast ReviewThis has long been one of the best Sauvignon Blanc-Viognier blends in California, and the '06 continues that tradition. Coming from a cool vintage, it's very dry and racy, with a scour of acidity and stony, minerally flavors, with touches of citrus blossom and wildflower. No, it's not a fruit bomb, but it's a sleek, elegant wine, in the European tradition.Wine Tasting NotesThis is a unique blend of Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Viognier. The grapes come from the T-bar-T vineyard in the Alexander Valley. The perfume of the smells exactly like the vineyard smells in spring, when all the white flowers are in bloom. This is our last vintage of producing this special, proprietary white.
Wine tasting NotesThis is a young, bright, exciting, fresh, pure expression of Green Valley fruit from a superlative vintage. It has a very, very pretty nose. The flavors are Gravenstein apple and complex citrus with a hint of lime, which is part of the Iron Horse signature along with a distinct minerality. It is ultra smooth and surprisingly creamy. Cinnamon and nutmeg contribute to dreamy associations with creme brulee.
By nose, raspberry, Crenshaw melon and hint of tangerine. In the mouth really ripestrawberry (yet dry), definitely a Pinot Noir. The perfect wine with a beautiful steak dinner, grilled tuna, duck, ham, turkey, roasted squash, wild mushrooms and chestnuts. It is a great choice for Thanksgiving
The 2005 Brut Rose is an authentic rose with the grapes left on the skins to extract the deep rose color. A blend of 81% Pinot Noir and 19% Chardonnay aged 4 years on the yeast in the bottle, it boasts abundant aromas of framboise, wild strawberries,... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. By nose: Filbert nut, warm milk and baked apple. By mouth: baked apple, a richcreamy mouth-feel followed by a touch of lemon curd on the finish. A perfect aperitif by itself and for a great cocktail, simply add a few pomegranate seeds to the flute. Pair with rich foods such a foie gras, as well as sweet and soursauces and anything prepared with exotic spices, including curries and chilies. Also great with a BLT.
This is Iron Horse's Blanc de Noirs, made from predominantly Pinot Noir. It has a beautiful rose color. Rich and creamy, like pure strawberries and cream, this is without doubt the most romantic of our Sparklings. It is dangerously easy to drink. A favorite for many, Iron Horse is probably best known for this cuvee. Food Pairing: The vibrant, rich qulaities make our wedding Cuvee the perfect partner to a range of dishes. A butter lettuce salad with bacon, gorgonzola and red apple, poached salmon with summer squash and hollandaise or a red and green peppercorn cursted pork tenderloin with fresh mint.
