A touch of pink in the color and hints of fresh strawberries in the aroma show off the Pinot Noir in this wine (85 percent of the blend). It's soft and floral, with lasting, gentle red fruit flavors, for a pork roast.
The Wedding Cuvée is one of Iron Horse's sweeter bubblies, but it's not a sweet wine. It's soft, creamy and delicious. Brimming with flavors of green apples, strawberries, brioche and pepper, it continues the winery's brilliant tradition of crafting some of the finest sparkling wines in California.
This is always one of Iron Horse's nicest sparklers. It seems softer, rounder, creamier and fruitier than the others - it certainly is relatively high in alcohol, yet is no less elegant. Just delicious in strawberry, lime, vanilla and lees flavors, with a clean, uplifting finish.
Sleek and crisp, with fresh cherry and apple aromas and polished lemon, anise and creamy vanilla flavors, finishing on a vibrant mineral note. Drink now through 2014.
This is Iron Horse's Blanc de Noirs, made from predominately Pinot Noir. It has a beautiful, pale-peach hue. Rich and creamy, like pure strawberries and cream, this is without doubt the most romantic of Sparklings. It is dangerously easy to drink. A favorite for many, Iron Horse is probably best known for this cuveeFood Pairing: Marries perfectly with frisee salad with diced bacon and a Pinot Noir vinaigrette, Chinese chicken salad, scrambled eggs and caviar, rock shrimp and potato frittata, mushroom dishes such as a grilled Portobello sandwich or wild mushroom risotto, poached salmon - hot or cold, and best of all, chocolate dipped strawberries
Maybe it's all marketing, but this does seem to be an ideal wedding toast bubbly. There's something for everyone. Despite being almost Pinot Noir, it's light and delicate, with a crisp elegance and a fine mousse, and that effervescent pleasure that only a fine bubbly provides.
