Another triumph for Invictus, whose wine we introduced to our customers for the first time in 1998. Made from fruit grown at a prestigious, first-growth quality vineyard, Invictus is just the kind of wine we seek but do not find very frequently: one that tastes 50-75% better than its price suggests. With its elegant, Bordeaux-like color, rich, smokey yet restrained nose and voluptuous richness balanced by fine minerality, the 2007 Invictus would be a good buy at $59.95. At $39.95 it may be the single finest wine of its type made in America.
