Innocent Bystander Shiraz Blend Shiraz Viognier 2010
Floral and intense on the nose with a touch of reduction highlighting an asphalt undertone. Plenty of smoky oak, white pepper and violet notes add complexity. Soft and full on entry, a spine of acid does perk up on the mid-palate. There is ore reduction evident on the palate here, but some air helps to clear it up, revealing finely rendered blackberry fruit wrapped in a oak and supported by bright floral and pink peppercorn tones. The blackberry fruit pops on the back end and works in tandem with the subtle oak treatment on the moderately long finish. 90 ptsAdd winemaker's notes
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Unusually blood red – very violet florality, fairly alcoholic, spice, plum and faint leather. Big, fruit driven entry, nice mid-palate with good acidity and fine tannins support light nuanced pepper and herb notes that enhance the very red tart plum, red licorice fruits. Light and elegant but ends a touch hot 87pts
Lilac, violet and graceful floral aromas of Viognier intermix beautifully with the heavy, black fruit from the Shiraz. A bit of savoriness makes this wine deep and complex - soft and smooth on the palette, yet finishing with a spicy kick of raspberry spice.
The nose was scary - pepper pepper and more pepper - I prepared myself for a heavy wine with lots of alcohol. What I got was alot of alcohol but smooth as silk and fabulous - the way the nose opens is way to over powering but the taste is incredible - I love love love this wine - under $20 is amazing - more than worth buying and trying - excellent - I have another bottle and 2 2005's - cannot wait to have my wine friends try them - will again report!!
Tons of pepper on the nose, however, one sip and you'll be in heaven - floating in immense fruit and spice. Highly recommended for under $20. Any wine lover will be truly surprised.
Smooth yet spicy. Extremely short finish. Complex enough to be enjoyable.
Full fruit. But not super "high C" fake. Dark cherries, plus, usual suspects. A hint of bacon fat on the nose and in the mouth. cote-rotie but with more fruit and a little less earth.
This seemed liked it was a bit over the hill. The color was a deep garnet with slightly browned edges. The palate had a nice balance and texture/mouth feel. It had a long finish. There was some white pepper and blueberries. The alcohol was a tad high. Seemed a bit oxidized but still nice. Just surprising it was a 2005. 88/100

($20) Saturated ruby. Black raspberry and baking spices on the nose. Tangy, sharply focused red fruit flavors are pinot-like in their vivacity; surprisingly light in body, with impressive mineral lift and cut. Clean and brisk on the finish, leaving b...
