Innocent Bystander Pink Moscato Victoria 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

86 points Wine Advocate: Very pale cherry pink in color, the 2012 Moscato is scented of roses and peach blossoms over a core of grape juice and honeyed apricots. Sparkling, light-bodied, low in alcohol (5.5% declared alcohol) and made in a medium-sweet style, it offers plenty of straightforward aromas and flavors with crisp acid to enliven and a long finish. Drink it now. (Jun 2012) - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

An experienced vigneron counting over 20 years in the Australian wine industry, Phil Sexton relocated from the warm, coastal region of Margaret River to the gravelly slopes of Victoria’s Yarra Valley in the late 1990s to pursue cool climate viticulture. Beyond the pristine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir he was able to produce in the Valley, Phil discovered a number of vineyards in far flung corners of Victoria that inspired him to explore regional diversity in this small state. Thus the Innocent Bystander label was created, and his talented winemaking team tasked with delivering a range of wines with a personality all their own: distinctly regional, varietally expressive and definitely not your run of the mill blends. Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Nose: Fairy floss, sherbert, pink grapefruit & mandarin. Musk humbugs or the toffee apple stand at the Healesville Show. Palate: Rhubarb crumble, toffee apple. Persistent fizz with a brown pear and tamarillo skin finish. Tastes like kisses.
