What to Expect
Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. This is what the Yarra Valley was created for: making great Chardonnay. Alpine influences and flinty soils make for taut, elegant, finessed wines. But, at Innocent Bystander, they like their Chardonnay restrained, structured, citrus-y and refreshing (definitely not one for the toasty, oak, butter and honey brigade).

A dense, solid wine, with spicy orchard and tropical fruit flavors that verge on the exotic. Retains focus and energy on the finish, though, picking up a mineral accent as well as a hint of lemon.
