Inniskillin Pearl Vidal Riesling Icewine 2006
The nobility of this vintage shines with an alluring assortment of fresh tangerine, papaya and lychee. These exquisite fruit flavours, combined with invigorating acidity offer multi-layers of balanced pleasure. Food Pairing Suggestions: Perfect on its own or as a dessert, or an excellent match to fresh fruit, rich pate or fine blue veined and am based cheese.
On the nose honey. Rich sweetness honey and pears. I drank this on New Years Eve, admittedly I only could handle 2 glasses of this sweet.... nectar.
Four and a half glasses
Balanced and easy to drink, definitely great choice to introduce to other friends
This was my first taste of Ice Wine - absolutely delicious. Tropical smells and taste of honey and fruit. Very balanced.

Medium amber color; tangy, juicy and syrupy with creamy texture; sweet, intense and mouth filling with amazing richness and depth; an extraordinary expression of concentrated fruit.
This Vidal icewine is packed with aromas of lemon, grapefruit and flowers, and offers a racy but luscious intermingling of lemon and apricot. The flavors are heady but never heavy - the wine has a delicate touch and an elegant, integrated character that would please almost any wine drinker.
Extremely concentrated aromas featuring candied fruits - lychee, melon and guava, enhanced with notes of raisin and vanilla. This wine bursts on your palate, showcasing ripe exotic fruits followed by a coasting of tangerine and stone fruits. A long and lingering experience.
Niagara Peninsula VQA, CanadaLooking for a wine gem guaranteed to close any great meal on a euphoric note? Inniskillin Icewine is Canada's gift to the enophiles of the world. The Inniskillin Winery was founded in 1975 by Donald JP Ziraldo and Karl J Kaiser in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Their 1989 Inniskillin Icewine forever placed the wines of Canada on the world map when it won the Grand Prix d'Honneur at Vinexpo in Bordeaux.Although the concept of eiswein began in Germany, the Canadians have admirably embraced and perfected the art. The grapes used to make icewine are left on the vine into December and January. The ripe berries are dehydrated by the constant freezing and thawing over the winter. This process concentrates the sugars, acids and extracts in the grapes, giving icewine its intense flavors and remarkable complexity. Do yourself a favor and indulge in this elixir from heaven!Inniskillin Icewine Vidal is deep gold in color with a surreal nose of lychee nuts and stone fruit. It fills the mouth with intensely sweet flavors of tropical fruits, peach nectar and mango. Yet the wine's sweetness is balanced by an acidity that leaves a clean, dry finish on the palate. Well balanced to enjoy now, this icewine will age and increase in complexity for up to 25 years in cellar. In its youth, the wine is fresh and clean on the finish. With age it approaches a nectar, lingering longer on the palate.Enjoy Inniskillin Icewine Vidal with pear tart, apple cake, fresh peaches, Roquefort cheese, and foie gras.
Wine Tasting NotesThis vintage shines with an alluring assortment of fresh nectarine, papaya, lychee, tangerine and orange blossoms. These exquisite fruit flavors, combined with invigorating acidity, offer multiple layers of balanced pleasure.
