“Indaba” is the Zulu word for “a meeting of the minds,” or a traditional gathering of tribal leaders for a sharing of ideas. The brand was created as a celebration of the democratization process in South Africa, and from its inception, the wines have conveyed the spirit of South Africa to American consumers. A portion of the proceeds from the Indaba wines supports a scholarship for formerly disenfranchised South Africans who are interested in wine-related careers. Very floral and polleny on the nose with a core of very ripe apricot and papaya fruit over subtle suggestions of roasted jalapeno and butcher’s wax. Moderately light body with nice acidity and soft flavors of quince, orange, and a suggestion of almond butter. It’s got bright acidity but is still rather laid back in the mouth with a rush of fruit on the moderately long finish that ends with nice nutty tones. 85pts

light, lemony, citrus aromas, grapefruit pithe on the palate combined with white peaches, unripened nectarines, and lime. very refreshing, lovely acidic notes.

The aroma is exciting; crisp and grassy herbs with lemon. The attack is smooth with lots of citrus, particularly grapefruit. There's kind of a butteriness that keeps it well shaped.

Bright tropical and citrus fruit aromas, mostly pineapple and lemon. There's a floral aspect to it as well. The palate transitions to citrus and stone fruits. I'm getting lemon, apples and peaches. Nice wine.

Light mild and softly acidic nose with a faint funk. Nicely balanced acidity in the mouth with lemons, grass, steel and a delicately subdued finish. Great value.

This crisp refreshing white is packed with luscious tropical fruits, citrus, and melon flavors and a touch of honey. It makes a great match for salads, light pasta dishes, mild cheese, sushi, and seafood. World-wide sales of Indaba wine help fund the Indaba Scholarship, establised to open the wine industry doors to a new generation of South Africans.

One of Astor's best white wine values, this Chenin Blanc has tantalizing aromas of ripe pears and flowers, with exuberant tropical fruit on the palate. This is great with cheeses, fish, and light pasta dishes.
