Smells quite fruity with a nice green apple tone over some vanilla cream. On entry this shows a bit more of the toasty, creamy oak than just the vanilla on the nose but it’s fairly well balanced and round with enough acid to keep it bright. There is a little toasty nuttiness on the backend and a green apple, and lime, tone on the modest finish. A simple, fruity, and friendly styled Chardonnay 83pts

It would be hard to imagine a better-balanced or more succulent ten dollar wine from the world's most ubiquitous white variety than their 2007 Chardonnay. Spiced apple, pineapple and pear fill the nose and mouth, with the influence of wood cosmetically subtle and truly framing the fruit as it's supposed to. Slight hints of vanilla, caramel, and butter-cream set off but by no means detract from the sheer generosity of fruit on display in a thirst-quenching finish. If one could replace the 98% of cheap Chardonnay being poured around the world that ranged from mediocre to miserable with glasses of this, no consumer would (nor should) ever again be willing to settle for less. Bravo!

Indaba is a South African term used to describe tribal members calling for a community meeting to discuss issues. Appropriately named, this wine is perfect for gatherings and friendly get-togethers. The fragrance is of vibrant pear, lemon peel, pineapple and melon followed by honeyed apple with a kiss of oak. Talk about a tasty wine! It pairs beautifully with corn chowder, salmon cakes, shrimp fettucine or mussels.

This wine offers a balance of apple and citrus crispness with a touch of buttery oak. The nose is redolent of crisp fruits; on the palate it's refreshing and seafood-friendly. Pair with shellfish or creamy egg dishes.

This crisp, clean Chardonnay offers aromas of apple, honey and tropical fruit, and the flavor profile is not terribly complex, but friendly. Fresh fruit is balanced by acid and the mouthfeel has an appeal creamy quality. Good for food pairing; think anything from lobster to spicy ethnic cuisine.

Winemaker's Notes:

Citrus and tropical fruit aromas lead to a crisp, fresh palate with mouth-filling flavors of apple, pear, honey, and pineapple. A gentle kiss of oak adds a creamy butterscotch nuance and wonderful depth. A superb value, this versatile white is a fantastic match for a wide range of dishes, from mac & cheese to spicy ethnic food. The grapes were picked in the cool early morning hours to maintain the freshness of the fruit. They were destemmed, left in cold skin contact for 4 hours, and then gently pressed. The juice was then settled overnight before fermentation, which occurred in a combination of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. The wine was left on its lees for several months to develop further in complexity.
