Producing classic wines from the Veneto is our passion. In the 1950s Giuseppe Inama, the estate's founder, began purchasing small plots of vineyards in the heart of the Soave Classico region using nothing more than his savings - at that time, few understood the area's potential. But Giuseppe was a believer. His idea was to assemble only top quality vineyards of old-vine Garganega and fashion from them a wine capable of restoring Soave's reputation. Today our estate comprises more than 25 hectares of vineyards in the very heart of the Soave Classico. In the 1990s we decided to expand our production to include red wines and, after much research, settled on the Colli Berici, a system of terrarossa hills some 15 kilometres (10 miles) east of Soave in the neighbouring province of Vicenza. At first glance the two zones appear to have little in common but they share one fundamental element: the possibility to produce wines reflecting a unique terroir. Each terroir is best expressed through a different variety. In the Soave Classico appellation the steep hills and the meagre basalt soils are carpeted with Garganega. An intensely aromatic variety, it was first planted here by the Romans and was originally known as "Grecanicum", a reference to its Greek origins, although it arrived here from Sicily via Campania where its cousin, Greco, is still widely planted. Isolated from its family, it gradually mutated through hundreds of generations. The name changed and so did the vine: its current, floral iteration gives voice to the inimitable blend of Alpine and Mediterranean influences found in Soave. Read less

Sweet perfume nose with a backbone of citrus. Slightly rich and almost buttery palate, but not too heavy; balanced well with moderate acidity and finish. Perfect match for left over fish and veggies. A new favorite!

Pale straw-yellow color with a green tinge. Herbal and minty aromas mingle with banana, underripe pineapple and pear. Light and fresh on entry, with a pleasant herbal nuance to the ripe citrus and pineapple flavors. Bright acids give this wine considerable clarity and cut. Quite persistent for what is a base-level Soave in name only, as this is at a quality level far superior to that of similarly priced wines.

The 2005 Soave Classico Vin Soave is sweet and fat with an almost exotic quality to its up-front super-ripe apricot and peach flavors. It is a perfect introduction to the house style. Inama is another of the region's leading producers of Soave. The estate favors a richer expression of the wines, especially evident in the top selections of both Soave and Sauvignon.

Inama is one of the best producers in the Veneto, and this Soave Classico harkens back to the days when Soave was really something special.

The 2007 Soave Classico is quite pretty in this vintage. The wine reveals apricots, honey, flowers and almonds on a richly-textured frame. This is a fairly generous style of Soave that sacrifices a touch of aromatic complexity, but it is absolutely delicious all the same.

Fermented in stainless steel but aged for 15 months in wood, it has aromas of dried cherries, vanilla, and cassis. On the palate it is lush and full with flavors of black cherries, prunes, blackberries, and very subtle herbal notes among others.

Shows lavender and lemon character. Medium-bodied, with a crisp mineral finish and an intense lemon rind aftertaste. Drink now.
