Shows lavender and lemon character. Medium-bodied, with a crisp mineral finish and an intense lemon rind aftertaste. Drink now.

Fine balance to this well-cut white, which offers lightly honeyed flavors of apricot, grapefruit zest, star fruit and stone, with a hint of straw and a moderate finish. Drink now through 2016. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

The 2005 Soave Classico Vin Soave is sweet and fat with an almost exotic quality to its up-front super-ripe apricot and peach flavors. It is a perfect introduction to the house style. Inama is another of the region's leading producers of Soave. The estate favors a richer expression of the wines, especially evident in the top selections of both Soave and Sauvignon.

Pale straw-yellow color with a green tinge. Herbal and minty aromas mingle with banana, underripe pineapple and pear. Light and fresh on entry, with a pleasant herbal nuance to the ripe citrus and pineapple flavors. Bright acids give this wine considerable clarity and cut. Quite persistent for what is a base-level Soave in name only, as this is at a quality level far superior to that of similarly priced wines.

Bright straw-green. Floral, high-pitched aromas of stone fruits and fresh herbs on the clean, enticing nose. Shows very good balance and energy to its flavors of lemon icing, green apple, pear and herbs. Richer on the palate than I expected, with lovely concentration and length; this is a very serious entry-level Soave and one of the best versions from Inama in years. Very well done.
