Immich-Batterieberg Riesling C.A.I 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

"Immich-Batterieberg's early history dates back to the Middle Ages. A Prince von Esch possessed the 12th-century building, which is located in the center of Enkirch next to the stream called Ahringsbach. The original section of the castle is named after him: Escheburg. The Immich family would later own the estate for over 500 years (1425–1989)." "In 2009, new ownership hired consultant-winemaker Gernot Kollmann, formerly at Van Volxem and Knebel, among others, to run the property and to vinify the wines. Coincidentally, Gernot had a strong interest in Immich-Batterieberg years before and even sought investors for this once-renowned estate but to no avail. Since taking over, Gernot's first three vintages have been an enormous success." Producer Article on Immich-Batterieberg, LarsCarlberg.com
