Illuminati Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riparosso 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"‘Riparosso’ is ruby red in color with violet hues when young. There are aromas of red fruit on the nose. The palate is deep, full, round, and well-balanced with a lingering hint of licorice on the finish. Pairs well with roasted red meats, braised meats, game, poultry, medium-aged cheeses, and it is ideal with lamb." - Importer

Colour: ruby red with a hint of purple in its early stages. Nose: red fruit notes, agreeable and persistent. Flavour: it reveals itself as full-bodied, deep, ripe, round, harmonic and persistent with a final note of licorice. - The Winery

Juicy dark cherries, flowers and spices seem to jump from the glass in the 2011 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riparosso. A joyous, fruit-driven red, the Riparosso is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years. It is a great introduction to Montepulciano. Even better, it is a steal. Anticipated maturity: 2013–2015.
