Heady aromas of rose petals and wild blue and black berries, introduce ripe red fruit flavors with subtle accents of fresh herbs, bittersweet chocolate and toasty oak. Lovely, velvety mouthfeel and lingering finish. Ready to drink now and over the next seven or eight years.

Il Palazzone's Brunello di Montalcino is characterized by a deep ruby color with garnet hues. Bursts of cherry, ripe plum and hints of bay leaf are balanced with overtones of chocolate, spices and licorice. The wines have a light tannic structure and a long silky finish. This really has aromas of crushed ripe fruit and flowers. Full-bodied, with very silky tanninsand a pretty, refined finish. Beauty. Tiny, serious producer. - James Suckling, Wine Spectator October 31, 2004. 91 points.
