Il Molino di Grace Sangiovese Toscana IGT Gratius 2003

Member Review by Philip James:

Very nice wine. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Good nose of dark red fruits, spicy, tobacco and leather. Finish of coffee and sandalwood. Will keep for 5+ years. Fantastic!

Il Molino di Grace (the "windmill" of Grace) is located just south of Panzano-in-Chianti in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico region. All of our wines are estate-bottled, and estate-grown using only sustainable growing and wine-making methods. For us, the wine has to be an expression of the place, the varietal(s) and the vintage - and we believe very strongly that our wines do consistently reflect this philosophy. As such, Sangiovese is dominant in five of the six wines we make. We are very proud that in 2004 we were awarded the prestigious "Emerging Winery of the Year" by Gambero Rosso, and one of our wines has achieved Tre Bicchieri in five of the last six years. Additionally, il Molino di Grace was named to Wine and Spirits magazine's "Top 100 Wineries in the world" list in two of the past four years. But mostly, we are proud of our wines and the response they have received from people all over the world. Please feel free to drop us a note or to stop by the winery (we built it - and we like to show it off) if your travels take you to Tuscany. Read less

100% Sangiovese. A dense, dark ruby red wine with a generous nose of black cherries, berries, chocolate, tobacco, pepper and spice. A well-structured wine with good balance and complexity featuring concentrated red and black fruit flavors with hints of wood, chocolate and coffee, followed by a nice, long finish.
