User Reviews for Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino

Winemaker's Notes:

"Crimson, just starting to open up. Sweet cherry confit and cherry liqueur and a note of oak. Touch alcoholic. Ongoing aroma of amarene cherry and dark fruit. Acidity and tannin yet to integrate, but very long, with waves of fragrant dark fruit. Drink from 2014 to 2022. (WS)" (09/11) - 17.5 out of 20 Points, Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages. Wine: "A classic and elegant Brunello that is fragrant and fruity on the nose and well-structured on the palate, with a long elegant finish. Pairs well with roasted meat dishes and robust Tuscan recipes." - Importer Vinification and Aging: "Fermentation in steel tanks lasting 11 to 12 days. Pumping over the cap is done for the first 2 days. In a mix of Allier and Slavonian casks for 39 months. It becomes an official Brunello after 5 years, which includes the 6 months of rest in bottle." - Importer
