Il Borro Chardonnay Tuscan 2008

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

This is decidedly funky on the nose with buttery, almond tones and lots of intense soil and floral character. Notes of nettle and tarragon along with clean, lemony fruit. Glassy in the mouth with good depth to the mango, lemon and muskmelon flavors. The texture is rather soft and creamy with good acidity and volume in the mouth. This is fairly complex with the fruit adding some peach notes on the back end before showing a very assertive mineral note on the long finish. This can’t decide what it wants to be, but is interesting. 88pts
