What to Expect

Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties.

Winemakers Notes

M winery is pleased to introduce its premier vintage-Idol 2005 Red table wine. This surprising wine is the perfect fusion of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. The result is a spicy, sensuous, and complex vintage that will most certainly delight the most avid red wine aficionado. To achieve the ultimate blend, the fruit was sourced exclusively from well-manicured vineyards within the Lodi wine region, an area which benefits from a distinctly Mediterranean climate. Warm days and cool evenings provide the perfect environment for the development of premium wine grapes. read more...

This wine is another great value from winemaker Tim McIntosh. The nose is cherry candy, with a little dusty spinach thrown in. There is a candied element to the flavor as well, but it is balanced nicely with hints of berries and rye toast. The body is light, but memorable. The finish comes off fruity a just a touch musty. This is a great wine with light appetizers or even a big meal. Won't fill you up, never lets you down!

Yo, T-mac... let's go! Right off the bat (pun INTENDED) the nose is picking up a lethal triple play of veggies, spice and plum... bam-bam-bam! Very nice. The taste however takes the aroma into a slightly different direction/variation by adding some chalkiness and cherry as well. Good stuff!

I love it when i can nail a wine when it comes to familiar flavors. This wine IS a cherry Jolly Rancher in liquid form. Take one of those little guys and a touch of dust and enjoy. The dust"esque" of this wine add complexity, and there is no cottonmouth feeling which is awesome! I would pair with a heavily seasoned pork loin with lots of herbs, basil, oregano, rosemary etc. A real treat at 15 bones.
