Add your reviewFuller and spicier in the mid-palate and more intense on the finish after 18 hours vacu-corked in the fridge. Raising the rating a notch.
A smooth and tame petit sirah that needs about 60 min air time or decanting to elevate the nose, fruit, acid, and tannin. Most intense at the front half of the mouth with a thick layer of off-dry ripe fruit (blueberry, dark plum, perhaps some blackberry) and hints of black pepper, chocolate, caramel, and spice. A little weaker mid-palate and in the finish with acid and tannin low relative to the fruit (some may like the lower acid .. alcohol also lowish at 14%). Not too complex. Good QPR, a straightforward wine likely to be good with BBQ fare or at a party.
Strong heat (alcohol) on the nose, also grape and a little spice. The acidity for me was on point, but to some I'm sure would be a little much. The first phase comes in a bit much with a bitter tart like taste on the palette and the heat isn't overwhelming, but definitely makes its presence felt in more ways than one. Overall, this wine should be open and put down for about 30 minutes to an hour. Once opened up, the taste is more structured and then it can be appreciated even more with some food, like cheese and crackers or whatever your choice.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine ReviewRated 86 GOOD VALUE13% Cabernet Sauvignon. One would have a hard time finding the Petite Sirah sinew in this medium-full-bodied wine, but that said, there are things to like here in the ripe, accessible red fruit aromas and flavors and its somewhat rounded, never soft palate impressions. Indeed, the argument could be made that the wine comes closer to a southern Rhone than to the more solidly built bottlings from the northern end of the district.Wine Tasting NotesWhen this wine is first poured, the room fills with the scent of fresh blueberries. Enormous fruit characteristics include aromas of black fruit, chocolate, currant, blackberry and black cherry. The palate is rich and full, blanketed with soft tannins. This Petite Sirah is an amazing wine with its subtle layers of fruit and a rich jammy intensity that rather than going over the top, shows refinement and finesse in every sip.
