Winemakers Notes

Exactly what one would expect with a tonically youthful pale pastel green colour. A frank open bouquet that displays all its charms with juvenile casualness : perfumed aromatic and freely approachable. Such liveliness accurately indicates a crisp refreshing palate that exhilarates the tastebuds by bringing out its fresh grapey character and thirst-quenching qualities.

Wow this nose is unique on a pale gold body. Apple and almost a note of celery come to mind at first with a bakcground of, I know it sounds silly, but smokey minerals. Dusty almost, with a light whiff of smoke. Nice and clean. In the mouth it is a bit oily with a fresh acidity that shows towards the finish but it not pronounced. Fresh peach, and green fig notes. Nice body overall and I think this might be a nice choice for a white wine with heavier fish.

Wow, BIG flavors from a $12 bottle. Pale yellow wine that's all pineapple, peach, and apple on the nose transitioning to a dusty, flinty, almost yeasty/cheese smell.

The palate has bright acidity, lots of crisp fruit, and maybe even a hint of petroleum/fire. Not my kind of wine but an excellent example of the region.

Wine Tasting NotesA blend of Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Sylvaner. Very youthful color, lively and crystal-clear, with pale green and lemon yellow pastel hints. This image is faithfully reproduced on the nose, perfectly aromatic, frank, sincere, revealing a palette of fruit and floral nuances that can only be found in blend of Alsace grapes : green apple, pear, white peach, banana, pineapple, lychee, and a profusion of spring flowers, rose, freesia and a subtle touch of muscatel. On the palate it is dry, lively, joyfully crisp and clear, and exactly as it should be : refreshing read more...

A little acidic for me, full bodied and big deep fruit on the nose

This wine revives an ancient Alsace tradition that wines assembled from noble grape varieties were called Gentil. Gentil Hugel allies the suave, spicy flavor of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of Sylvaner. Gentil has a pure, fresh bouquet, particularly fruit-driven and floral, engaging and expressive, flattering and affectionate. On the palate it is dry, with a lively, youthful freshness that makes it agreeably refreshing, and an appealingly scented finish. It stimulates the taste buds and makes the read more...

Beautifully balanced, with fresh summer flowers and peaches on the nose, with smoky flinty minerals emerging. Taste initially of peaches and quite fresh and floral, with almost smoky minerally acid coming just afterwards.
