User Reviews for Hugel et Fils Pinot Blanc Alsace Aoc Hugel Blanc de Blancs

Winemaker's Notes:

"Rated: 85 Inviting aromas of soft citrus fruit, butter and spices. Spicy and easygoing, with a touch of sweetness and good lift to the citrus and peach flavors. Part of this wine went through malolactic fermentation. Arrgh, not another tall, skinny-necked bottle,'' my wife cried. Then she sipped this dry, seductive beauty and all was forgiven. Until she stole the last sip. We're working it out. For my taste, Alsace is the place to turn to (followed closely by the Loire Valley and the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer area of Germany) for expressive white wines. This one is seriously austere, tinged with soft grapefruit and mineral notes and full of bright acidity. We had it with leftovers -- jerk chicken, cabbage and tomatoes -- and it worked just fine, although seafood would probably be a better bet. "
