Notes on the Hug Cellars Cedar Lane Vineyard Arroyo Seco Syrah 2005 266 Cases Produced : WINE ADVOCATE REVIEW: 88 POINTS The 2005 Syrah Cedar Lane Vineyard offers more cassis and black cherry characteristics buttressed by tart acidity. It is an elegant, sensual, nicely proportioned, restrained effort revealing solid flavor intensity. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. 266 cases produced. WA # , #172 (Aug 2007) Drink 2007 - 2012 Robert ParkerWINEMAKER NOTES: The Pacific Ocean greatly influences this cool climate Syrah. Though it is inland from the Monterey Bay, this maritime appellation produces Syrahs of grace and refinement. Look for notes of old-fashioned roses and ripe raspberries on the nose. Yet, nothing is out of balance, due to optimal acid levels and fruit that ripened to full maturity, yet did not come in too late. Our Cedar Lane Syrah is a nod to our favorite Crozes-Hermitage offerings. An underpinning of crushed wet rocks and white pepper infuse this wine with complexity.
