The Herbfarm USD 1100.00 750ml

Huët Vouvray Moëlleux le Haut-Lieu 1924

Winemaker's Notes:

John Gilman (View From the Cellar): Just a brilliant wine. Notes of honeyed oranges, raspberries, malty and barley tones and tea leaves noted. On the palate the wine was full, pure and flawless, with haunting complexity and perfect balance, coupled to the timelessness of bright chenin acidity and more than eighty years of bottle age. I apologize for not having a more precise note and score for this wine, but it predated the start of View From the Cellar, and I was too smitten by the wine to do anything but savor it in the glass. It would probably rate in the 95-96 range, but scoring a wine such as this is a bit more meaningless than usual. Only tasted once in late 2004.
